The Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement (MVILR) was founded to provide adults in the Mohawk Valley with opportunities for lifelong learning, social connection, and intellectual enrichment after retirement. Built on the idea that learning should continue at every stage of life, MVILR offers non-credit classes, lectures, workshops, cultural programs, and trips led by volunteers, professionals, and community members who share their expertise with others. Over the years, the organization has grown into a vibrant community centered around curiosity, engagement, and friendship, helping retirees remain active and connected while exploring subjects ranging from history and literature to health, technology, art, and local culture.
